gyer-yang – the slow chant of the Bönpos

Gyer-yang is the slow ritual chant of the Tibetan tradition of Yungdrung Bön.

A gyer-yang data base with the video demonstrations, related manuscripts and transcriptions connected to the „Tropur“ ritual and the ritual on the „Protectors of Bön“ can be found –> here.

A summary on how to read the video demonstrations and some basic research on gyer yang can be found  –> here.

The above research has been made possible through the artistic research project „The Five Elements – Electroacoustics meets Bön“ at Folkwang University of the Arts.
